Since 2015 Active Property Investing has been supporting the work of Gl0bal Village Housing (GVH) an Australian Social Enterprise helping some of the poorest families across Cambodia. Living conditions in these villages are some of the worst in the world; unsafe, unsanitary and unsure.
GVH has designed houses that fit in with local traditions and environmental challenges, using local materials and labour. These houses are built with strength, fully insulated, relocatable and designed to withstand Cambodia’s harsh weather conditions. Lead by an incredible crew of Australian volunteers, GVH invests every dollar into the construction and delivery of these homes.
Active Property Investing contributes a portion of profits to building and gifting GVH homes throughout the year. Emma Allen, Director of API is dedicated to spreading awareness and inspiring others about the importance of GVH’s work. “We can make a direct and lasting impact on these communities. We can change the world for one family at a time” Emma Allen. See photos below of previous families API has sponsored homes for.
2017 SCHOOL PROJECT
In 2017, Emma established Houses4Cambodia along with 3 friends to create a platform to raise funds for The School Project. The Battambang school is a mere dirt shack so GVH set the task to renovate the school complete with new walls, roof, insulation, clean drinking well, toilets, trees, playground and resources. See photos below of the The School Project, Battambang.
Houses4Cambodia hosted a fundraising dinner that raised just over $30,000 to cover the cost of the school. This was made possible thanks to the incredible support and generosity of many individuals, communities and businesses who really got behind for the cause. See photos of the 2017 GVH Fundraising Dinner.
2018 SCHOOL PROJECT
API are thrilled that The School Project 2018 has begun! The Global Village Housing (GVH) team on the ground in Cambodia have been working on this for months.
The Tractor School as we know it, will be built upon newly cleared land and feature facilities such as two brand new classrooms, teacher and learning resources, a fresh water well, toilet facilities and playground for the overall health and well being of the school children and this rural community. There is however, a great need to provide SCHOOL PACKS with uniform, bag and shoes for each student and bicycles to help them get there.
