For twelve years I've run Active Property Investing the way a good firm handles any serious financial decision: strategy first, research before property, and partnerships that continue well beyond a single purchase.
Research over speculation. Evidence over emotion. In FY2026, only 16% of the properties we assessed reached clients. The other 84% did not meet our standards, because every recommendation carries responsibility.
The work starts well before the property. It begins with reading the investing climate, and helping each investor get clarity on their own situation and where they sit in their journey. Only then can we find a way to invest successfully, in a property suited to the market conditions and to their stage.
When it comes to the property itself, it is fundamentals first. The focus is on sustainable investments that can compete for tenants now and hold their appeal at resale, each with a point of difference: a genuine competitive edge or unique factor that lifts it above the rest.
That way of thinking developed throughout my career, from writing my thesis on performance psychology in elite athletes to working with a global human performance firm. In both environments, I saw that gaining a competitive edge requires more than talent or opportunity. It takes the right mindset and attitude, a clear focus on the goal, and a disciplined strategy for achieving it. Those principles shaped how I built API and continue to guide the high-performing, cohesive team of specialists behind it.
I grew up watching hardworking people do everything right and still find property out of reach. As I built my own financial literacy, I discovered an industry with the power to change lives that too often prioritised transactions over people.
So in 2014 I founded Active Property Investing to do things differently: a research-led consultancy built on education, disciplined research and long-term partnerships. Since then we have helped hundreds of Australians build wealth through property, with many returning for their second, third and fourth investment.
I didn't set out to become a real estate agent. I set out to become an advocate, an educator and a strategist. Property became the vehicle. Empowering people to build wealth for generations became the purpose.

That starts with raising the standard of how people invest, through better education, stronger research and a more disciplined approach to decision-making.
If we leave our clients more capable, our team stronger than we found them, and our industry better for having us in it, commercial success will follow.
Since 2015, a share of what we do has gone towards housing families in rural Cambodia, funding scholarships for women, supporting financial literacy, and backing causes that strengthen our communities.
